He knew since he was a kid that he wanted to be a theater critic. Jay Handelman has been the theater critic and arts and entertainment reporter and editor for nearly 40 years at the Sarasota Herald Tribune. He talks about how he got to where he is and what it's like to have to write reviews - sometimes negative - about performers he knows personally. And he gives his honest appraisal of the arts scene here on the Suncoast.
